Sliding doors - parallel planes

'What if' possibilities ... sliding doors - parallel planes. I have created this as a self-reflection, journalling piece for you to ponder on.

Imagine yourself standing looking at two floating clear planes - almost like glass, but moving. They are parallel and have the same signposts indicating certain times in your life. However, there is something special about the second plane.


What if you scroll and choose a significant marker on the first clear plane. It could be a sad or upsetting time in your life. You may even think you have taken a wrong turn. Do not dwell on the circumstances. Just acknowledge.

Now, what if you go to the second plane and scroll to the same bookmark - it has a different scenario, different choices - it is a sliding door. It is full of possibilities. The 'what ifs' are:

  • how would you feel if the sliding door scenario came to pass?

  • how do you feel or imagine your life would be different?

  • would you still have come to this point in your life?

  • would you have learned the same lessons"

  • what if you could bring that imagining to your present life now to recreate a feeling of possibilities?

  • how would that change your life in the present?


Reflect and ponder. What could be the first step that you could take towards the new feeling good/better possibility? Best wishes, Karen
