CHILDREN
Your child has been going along happily then you notice that there is a change ...

Or perhaps a loved one or pet has died ... or they have had a loss of some kind - and you thought your child was ok, but they don't seem to be their usual selves ...

A few sessions with me will gently and creatively uncover what the real issue is.

By addressing these symptoms early, your child will learn what makes them feel safe, notice and manage their emotions and anxiety.

TEENS
The creative processes are good for when teens are finding it difficult to share with you or their guardian. They have a gamut of emotions to process, and so may changes. And of course, there is peer pressure as well.
Sessions with me seek to give them back some of their own power and autonomy - being able to process what is going on for them, knowing when to ask for help and learning processes that will help them as they grow to adult.
Teens I work with love the creative processes which stimulate creativity and problem solving. This also indirectly benefits their studies as well.

STUDIO or ONLINE
Although studio work is the preferred if you are local, I also work ONLINE with kids successfully for approx age 7-8 upwards if they are able to navigate the Zoom screen. Art and creative therapies are gentle and non-threatening for the child to work through what is troubling them and this has worked well online as well as in the studio. In an Online session, I ask that the child has art paper and crayons and felt pens and that they be seated in such a way that I can hear, speak and see them working on the task. This is a more natural way for them to communicate online.

Question:
What about if my child is neurodivergent or autistic?
I work with many older children who are high functioning, creative autistic 8-16 approximately, who are attending usual schools. Some have been neurodivergent. The creative processes help the young people communicate and begin to articulate how they feel. My role is from a holistic view and is to help your child be more confident about who they are, recognise their own skills, finding ways to recognise and creatively and mindfully address emotions, and help them to allow their inner light to shine.
The creative therapies and tools in the studio (Sandplay and Art Therapy) including objects, crystals and the fairy garden, all contribute to helping the young person connect and want to engage.
Each person is an individual, so no outcome is guaranteed nor is the same for each child.
