No Referral required - no Medicare nor medical insurances applicable

You do not need a referral to Karen Curran - The Heart of Us. Karen is a qualified Counsellor, Art and Sandplay Therapist, Advanced Australian Bush Flower Essences Practitioner in addition to being an artist/designer/illustrator/storyteller/teacher and more.

I take great care to provide thoughtful, encouraging and professional services but I cannot be responsible for the use that you make of that information.

Please be aware that the counselling and therapy services I provide are not a substitute for specialist advice tailored to your individual circumstances.

For example, I do not diagnose and cannot assist with medical information, addictions or severe mental health issues. Please connect with a psychologist/psychiatrist or other medical practitioner in those circumstances.

I have been a counsellor/therapist and artist for many years and take pride in my lived experiences, knowledge and experience in providing therapy services for women and children to help them transform the effects of grief, trauma and life events.

I do not provide services to support legal or court proceedings or other types of legal disputes. Please get legal information/help for this specific service.

Privacy & Security

All counselling / therapy sessions are confidential. Client files are held securely that only Karen Curran has access to. Contact information, calendar and billing of fees can only be accessed by Karen Curran. I will not share your information with others without written permission from yourself. However, as indicated when registering for therapy services, there are some rare circumstances where confidentiality may need to be broken:

- If there is a concern that you or someone else is at risk of serious harm or a criminal act

- If there is a comment or suggestion that raises concern of child abuse

- If a court of law requests your records

Online Privacy & Security

Karen Curran - The Heart of Us uses technology to communicate with clients but as with all technology, be aware that there are risks with online communication and I cannot guarantee the security of the internet. It is your responsibility to ensure that your technology is secure and private when accessing online services with Karen Curran - The Heart of Us.

If there are interruptions or dropouts in technology during a session, the scheduled session will continue using mobile phone.

No Recording is permitted

I treat confidentiality with great importance. I do not record sessions and I expect that clients who use my service will not record any sessions as these are confidential. You may not forward any email or other electronic communications from Karen Curran to other persons. You may not copy and paste parts of emails or other communications and pass on this information to other persons.

Cancellation

If you cancel your appointment at least 24 hours before your allocated time, you will receive a refund. If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, full fee will be charged as it is difficult to fill that spot in less than 24 hours.

Appointments can be rescheduled if advised 24 hours or more before scheduled session.

Payment Terms

Payment is required on the day, or prior to sessions. Credit card or direct deposit payments are available. All products must be paid for before collection or despatch.

All products must be paid for before collection or despatch.

Currently physical products can only be posted and delivered within Australia.

Counselling/therapies for individuals can only be accessed within Australia. Some world destinations are accessible, but not for United States or Canada. Juradiction is AUSTRALIA.

DIY course and workshops and digital products are not limited to Australian purchases.

Overseas Taxes

This is a very small business. Any additional taxes in your own country of origin are unknown and may be applicable to be payable by you on your purchase or delivery.

eStore, Courses, Classes, Products
We do our best to provide quality services and products both physical and digital. The digital products are for your own personal use only. You cannot on-sell these products, nor make copies of digital products, nor remix for viewing or to give to anyone else. The products and illustrations are copyright Karen Curran (Australia).

Please choose wisely. All eStore products are made to order so are not returnable.
If you have a problem with your product, or it was damaged in transit, please contact Karen Curran as indicated below.

Unless otherwise stated, all amounts are listed in Australian Dollars (AUD).

Refunds and Returns

Because therapy is individual and time is valuable, and products are individually created or printed on order, or are in digital form, Karen Curran - The Heart of Us does not provide change of mind refunds. Please keep this in mind when making a purchase.

DELIVERIES: We use Australia Post or a courier service, and your contact details are only used for delivering that purchase to you. In the unlikely event that an item is lost or damaged in the course of the Delivery Services, please contact Karen Curran within 7 days by sending an email (as indicated below) outlining in what way the Products were damaged in transit. Please include a contact number so that we can discuss a solution.

Concerns complaints

Therapy is individual and sometimes insights can be unsettling or there may be a worry or concern. If you have any concerns from your session with Karen Curran, or arising out of your use of this website or these terms and conditions, Karen Curran - The Heart of Us agrees to make a genuine effort to address or resolve the concern. Please contact Karen Curran within 7 days of your last session. Please leave a contact number so that we can discuss and find a resolution for you.

Respectful Communication

Respectful communication is engaging in conversations with others politely, considering other people’s feelings, actively listening to other people’s viewpoints, and valuing their ideas yet accepting that people may have different opinions.

In all in-person, video and phone consultations, emails or any written communications, which includes my website and social media, you will treat me with respect. In all communications with you, I will treat you with respect.

Responsible Engagement

Karen Curran engages in social media – Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn. Karen Curran takes responsible engagement seriously. There will be no demeaning comments or behaviour on any platform that is associated with Karen Curran - The Heart of Us. If there is any disrespectful engagement on any of Karen Curran’s social media platforms or websites, the comments will be deleted. Karen Curran is not responsible for the behaviour of others. Collection of information is a necessary part of counselling and it enables a counsellor to provide a relevant and informed service to you. This information includes your name, contact information, country where you currently reside, and other relevant information required by our law.
